Small Rural Community Hospital
Needs Big Leadership.
The Need:
Located
in a rural and isolated community, this acute care hospital needed
strong facilities management leadership for an aging plant and code
compliance upgrades. After an unsuccessful six month engagement
with another recruiting firm, Gosselin Associates was contracted
for the search.
This
hospital needed a high caliber individual who could lead the needed
and complex upgrades - someone with significant technical and managerial
depth. But it also needed to be someone who was excited to move
to this rural community. This search was geographically challenged.
Our
Solution:
Due
to this challenge and recognizing the extensive technical and compliance
needs of our client, we adapted our candidate evaluation criteria
and suggested a recruiting campaign targeting both local and national
candidates. We believed there may be leaders from other parts of
the country who would desire our client's location.
The
hired applicant possessed the skills and abilities to manage the
position's responsibilities as well as the willingness to assimilate
into the community. This client particularly appreciated how we
adapted our approach to their unique needs and kept them informed
every step of the way.
The
Result:
This
facility now has as much technical depth and experience leading the
facilities team as any big market hospital. The project term from
the initial site visit to filling the position was three months.
